40% of people think burnout is inevitable

Around the world, 40% of workers say they believe burnout is an inevitable part of success. Does it have to be?

During the two plus years of living and working through the pandemic, this has accelerated burnout to unfathomable heights.  U.S. workers said they experienced burnout at an average of 2.3 times in the last year, the highest globally.

So how can we bring prevention into this recipe and turn it into success?

Besides being clearer and realistic with goal setting, providing more mental health resources are important for the prevention of burnout. We have recently conducted a survey and over 65% of the people felt that employers providing mental health tools were even more stressed because they had too much work and no time to take care of themselves.

So how can you help this?

By making time for your people to take healthy breaks. Include a healthy break prior to a meeting by scheduling an extra 15 minutes. This will rejuvenate, relax and help people be more productive.

When we blur the lines as we have done, we are not only declining the type of work our people are doing, but driving them to further burnout.

Give your people permission to pause by providing a healthy break. Not only help your people feel better, but they will work better and live better.
